The Crypto Conf 2018: the first cryptocurrency conference in Bulgaria

You have probably heard of the very popular cryptocurrencies. Even if you are not sure what exactly they are, I am sure you have heard about Bitcoin from friends or on TV. It is the best-known cryptocurrency. But today I will not talk about the many types of cryptocurrency, but about something really special.

I am happy to share that, together with colleagues, I am organising the first conference of its kind on cryptocurrencies in Bulgaria. It is called The Crypto Conf 2018 and takes place on 11 May this year in Sofia. We chose the Inter Expo Center as the venue, and the event will run all day, starting at 9:00 sharp.

What can I tell you about The Crypto Conf 2018? We will bring together leading business people and experts in finance and digital entrepreneurship under one roof. The conference will focus on panel training sessions, interesting simulations and other practical exercises.

The speakers are international-level, proven entrepreneurs and experts from Bulgaria and the region. They will share their experience on blockchain technology, personal security in digital payments, everything about cryptocurrencies, ICOs and P2P, ways to invest, the decentralised economy, speculation and many other current topics. Past speakers at Business Storm Global events have come from Google, Thomson Reuters, the World Economic Forum, World Business Dialogue, Fortune 500 companies, the University of Oxford and others.

Although I am joining The Crypto Conf 2018 as a co-organiser, the event has its own history. It is part of The Business Storm, a project launched at the end of 2016 as a new-generation business seminar. It drew attention worldwide and now runs under the Business Storm Global brand. With the support of local and national institutions, entrepreneurship hubs, business organisations and investment funds, the format was successfully held in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2017.

This year the project spans 3 continents (Europe, North America and Asia), 8 countries (the US, the UK, Germany, Turkey, Singapore, China, Thailand and Bulgaria) and 10 business events in 9 cities (New York, Philadelphia, London, Berlin, Istanbul, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Sofia). The events abroad will be round tables where experienced representatives of local government, business and the non-profit sector will exchange experience and creative ideas. Bulgaria, and Sofia in particular, will play an important part, presented as a strategic hub for growing businesses and international companies.

Business Storm Global has been recognised by the US State Department's entrepreneurship programme, the Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative (YTILI), which aims to strengthen ties between European and American businesses. The US State Department is an official partner of the project in promoting transatlantic business and entrepreneurship.
