How to choose a good website for original branded perfumes?
For a while now, I’ve been keenly following online trends in Bulgarian perfumery e-commerce industry. There are tons of blog posts and forum threads like “Perfume websites we can trust” or “Perfume thoughts and passions”, a part of which are either ridiculous or just written for advertising purposes. A lot of them are published in the so called “mom forums”, beauty blogs and websites for the modern woman.
A lot of online traders aren’t interested in having well-informed customers, because misleading them would become a greater challenge.This drew me to the conclusion that a sufficient amount of information, regarding the online sales of branded perfumery, is hidden from the consumer, which was the primary reason for me to write this article. With it I intend to outline some unethical and unlicensed practices in Bulgaria’s e-commerce industry, and to answer some key customers’ questions. Also, I should note that a lot of online traders aren’t interested in having well-informed customers, because misleading them would become a greater challenge.
Probably, a lot of you ask themselves quite often: How can I choose a website for original designer perfumery? My parents have had a business for selling and distributing branded perfumes in and outside Bulgaria for years now, and ever since I was 13 years old, I have been helping them with it. Honestly, after such a long time I have gained a good perspective, sufficient experience and great knowledge about the industry of branded perfumery and online trade.
E-commerce in a relatively new industry that has been rapidly developing in the last 10-15 years. It gained quite a popularity in Bulgaria as well, which presented an opportunity for online businesses to sell ‘original’ branded perfumes. But unfortunately for the consumer, a lot of them offer replicas of well-recognized designer fragrances in order to score a bigger profit.
Having made a deep research of many online perfumeries, I will try to give you some guidance on how to protect yourself from unlicensed and unfair online stores. Additionally, you’ll learn how to distinguish quality websites from bad websites that offer branded perfumes. You would also understand, why it is so important to be especially careful with them.
I dare to say this article of mine is one of the most popular I’ve written so far – it has over 15 000 views and is published in various online medias – BG-Damma, POTV and Venera Cosmetics’ blog. I have first published it at the end of 2012, but in the beginning of 2015 I updated it with more information. However, the unfair online practices haven’t changed much for the time being. But there is some good news: customers recognize the good licensed online retailers more successfully, while the businesses provide better services at lower prices.
