Ambitious, but willing to work 24/7 in the name of the cause; innovation lover and a person, who knows how to take risks; unbending and brave active player in the national economy – this is a short description of the successful modern-day entrepreneur. And even if you think these people are mostly either very few, or crazy to devote to any kind of initiative in this unsecure and uncertain reality of ours, the entrepreneurs come out in the limelight of Bulgaria’s modern economy arena.
To be an entrepreneur means to have an idea, a talent or niche, which you are willing and capable to develop. We really hope you don’t consider the Bulgarian entrepreneur as “someone with no education, who has a criminal face and some money to burn”. Unfortunately, many Bulgarians think of entrepreneurs as people who are greedy, abusive and willing to violate any moral norm in order to build a fortune. This is the negative image of business that we have lived with for years – due to fear and uncertainty – and which we mainly link not only to business-oriented people, but to politicians, bankers and white-collar workers as well. But in fact, the latest research and trends claim otherwise. Bulgaria’s modern entrepreneurs are mostly young or middle-aged people with a unique idea, profitable initiative and a desire to grow both personally and professionally.
Bulgarian economic experts bravely claim that the entrepreneur in our country today is a real economy engine. While sufficient uncertainty and the fear of failure may be some of the major problems entrepreneurs face, the number of entrepreneurs actually grows bigger. Moreover, economists are clear that entrepreneurship in Bulgaria will become more popular, because Bulgarian people are quick-witted and flexible, high-minded and hard-working – qualities that necessary for successful start in business. Many Bulgarians these days prefer working for exactly such kinds of employers. Not only do the entrepreneurs create new job opportunities for the young specialists, but they also change the bias in the Bulgarian community. Today, working for an entrepreneur means giving support and believing into the possibility for a better future, while becoming a part of something new, different and more promising.
According to a recent research, the entrepreneur is considered to be one of the most desired and promising occupations among youth people in Bulgaria. This certainly is a positive trend, which also leads to the conclusion that Bulgarians still believe in achieving success in their own country. Older people’s opinion regarding entrepreneurship is changing for the better as well. People expect that the modern-day Bulgarian entrepreneurs will establish a new, successful beginning to an important and necessary segment in our national economy.
Do we need more entrepreneurs in Bulgaria? Yes, absolutely! Not only do they present a chance for a better tomorrow, but they’re also gradually becoming the symbol of modern success!
What do you think? What is the image of Bulgarian entrepreneurs?
